An experienced artiste and teacher, Smt. C.K. Amirthavalli, was initiated into Bharatanatyam by Guru. Smt. K. Lalitha of Saraswathi Gana Nilayam, Chennai.
After her arangetram, she moved to Bangalore where she had advanced training under the able guidance of Prof. Mr. M.R. Krishnamurthy, who inculcated in her the core values of Kalakshetra.
Her perseverance, hard work and dedication to the art, got her M.F.A. (Master of fine arts) in Bharatanatyam from Kalai Kaviri College of fine arts affiliated to Bharatidasan University, Tirucharapalli. She co-founded Saadhana – an actively performing team of classical dancers and participated in several in house as well as out of state performances.
With the blessings of her guru, she started “Taraangini School of dance” in 2005, following his footsteps to teach and preach the legacy of Smt. Rukmini Devi Arundale (founder of Kalakshetra)
